US Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) took the stage with his wife, Julie Fate, at Kodiak Crab Fest 2019 on Friday for the inaugural Pardoning of the Crab. Sheldon, a female red king crab, was provided for the pardoning by NOAA and will reside at the Kodiak Fisheries Research Center Aquarium, where guests can visitor her as she continues to grow well into old age. During the ceremony, Sullivan mentioned that he’d gotten off the phone with President Donald Trump that morning, and passed on well-wishes from the President for the Kodiak festivities.
