A Kodiak man was arrested on suspicion of purchasing gasoline with a fuel account belonging to the fishing vessel Arctic Lady, police said on March 5.

According to court documents, Jeffrey Parker, 20, made 13 different gasoline purchases with the fuel account between Jan. 17 and Feb. 20. The gasoline purchases totaled $561.08.

The Arctic Lady’s bookkeeper notified an employee of North Pacific Fuel that unauthorized purchases were made, and the incident was reported.

Parker first told state troopers he was a former employee of the vessel, but later admitted he had never been an employee.

Parker has been charged with second-degree theft, a felony.
