U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK), who was slated to appear at Comfish to give a legislative update, will no longer be visiting Kodiak this weekend due to a death in the family.

According to Kodiak Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Frank Schiro, who is the primary organizer of ComFish, Sullivan’s mother passed away.

Schiro, however, added that Sullivan’s legislative update will still take place on Friday afternoon, as scheduled.

“He’s making a video for us and his representatives will be here and will still host a presentation,” Frank said. “So the session isn’t canceled.”

An update from Sen. Sullivan’s office on federal fisheries legislation will take place 3:15-4 p.m. Friday in the Harbor Room of the Best Western Kodiak Inn.
