A collision between a school bus and another vehicle Thursday afternoon near East Elementary resulted in no injuries, according to school Superintendent Larry LeDoux.

The Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene of the accident and confirmed there were no injuries.

“The principal has been contacting families and made sure all protocols are being followed to get students safely home,” LeDoux said.

Students on the bus were transferred to another bus.

The school district contracts with the First Student Inc. for its student transportation needs, including East, North Star and Peterson elementary schools and for Kodiak High School and Kodiak Middle School.

First Student Kodiak Location Manager Jerry Clark said he could not provide any information on Thursday afternoon.

“The Alaska State Troopers are still investigating so we don’t have enough data yet,” Clark said, adding that the company would need to speak with its media team before providing more information.

The accident occurred near Sharatin Road and East Rezanof Drive.
