Kids Don't Float contest winners

The Coast Guard Auxiliary Kodiak Flotilla handed out awards to dozens of children Monday night in a packed Kodiak Island Borough School District board room for its “Kids Don’t Float” poster contest.

Three posters were selected as grand prize winners, with students earning a life jacket as the top prize. North Star Elementary first grader McKinley Johnson won the primary division category, while Kodiak Middle School eighth-graders Elan Hilty and Alliah Baisa shared the secondary division grand prize honors.
