Orvon Grover Autry better known as Gene Autry was an American movie actor and singer. 

He was born in Tioga, Texas on Sept. 29, 1907. He became famous starting in 1931, lasting for three decades. He is best known for the song “Back in the Saddle Again.” Autry is also remembered for many Christmas songs including his biggest hit “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” as well as “Frosty the Snowman,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and “An Old Fashioned Tree.”

Autry died on Oct. 2, 1998, of lymphoma in Studio City, Los Angeles, California.
