Come early to get your favorite seat and enjoy a wonderful meal with your friends. The Golden Tones will be singing carols at the luncheon and I am sure will be asking to sing along.
We have the KATS bus ready to take you on a tour of the city and see all the holiday lights in the community. The event is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 19 with the bus leaving at 6 p.m. Be at the center at 5:45 p.m. for the event and be sure to sign up as space is limited.
Monthly activities continue at the center through the rest of December but the center and Island Cove will be closed on Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26. Island Cove will close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec 24.
All services will be open as usual on Tuesday, Dec. 27. If there are a minimum of five people who sing up for a Christmas Day dinner at the center, we will hold that; otherwise if there are fewer than five, we won’t be holding Christmas Day dinner. We will make sure that home delivered meals are provided to those who need them for Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26 when we are closed.
We encourage all seniors to bring a small gift for a child to put under the center’s Christmas tree and then we will take those gifts to the Kodiak Women’s Resource & Crisis Center.
The center will host an ice cream social Dec. 30 after lunch. You don’t have to eat lunch that day to enjoy the ice cream social. That event will close out 2016. The center and Island Cove will be closed Jan. 1 and Jan 2. Island Cove will be open until 1 p.m. on Dec. 31.
The Senior Citizens of Kodiak, Inc. Board of Directors and staff would like to thank all Kodiak residents for their continued support and wish you the best holiday season. Our agency will continue to meet our mission: “To enhance the lives of older adults” throughout 2017.
