Don Young is a perfect example of a career politician. Decades in the swamp, corruption scandals, losing all his committee chairmanships and missing over 4,000 votes have left him without the clout to get things done. And his constituents suffer the consequences.

Alaska has missed out on over $1 billion in infrastructure funding. This means that our roads, bridges and ferries are left to fail without the assistance we sent him to obtain. In fact, he recently joked to the Cordova Times about his inability to get money for our ferry systems, saying, “If you’re going to wait for the federal government to do it, you’ve got a long wait.”

This is an unacceptable position as we look to rebuild our economy in the coming months.

This is why I am supporting Alyse Galvin for Congress. Alyse, through her work serving under Independent and Republican governors, has shown her ability to deliver for Alaskans. She will command respect in a way that Don Young is no longer able to. I am proud and excited to vote for Alyse because she has a platform to rebuild our economy and protect our rights.
