To the Editor,

Gallon after gallon of Glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup) is being sprayed in Chiniak to aide in the replanting process.

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup, is proven to be toxic to humans and wildlife. Including the fish and deer that the people of Kodiak rely on. Glyphosate causes numerous health problems including genetic mutations, destruction of red blood cells, lung dysfunction, low blood pressure, kidney damage, miscarriage. Studies also show that it affects bone growth and testicular function. The lists go on and on.

Just an idea for Leisnoi — consider spending the time and money to replant responsibly instead of on policing your wasteland. Or better yet just let it heal itself.

With best wishes for the future,

Sara Fish
