Local business owner Dan Rohrer has filed to run for a seat on the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.

He joins Brenda Schwantes and Larry LeDoux and incumbents Dave Kaplan and Tuck Bonney in the race for three seats.

Incumbent Jeffrey Stewart is the only candidate so far to file for two seats on the school board.

No candidates have filed for 10 seats on local fire protection and service area boards.

No candidates have signed up for the two seats up for re-election on the Kodiak City Council. The seats are currently held by Terry Haines and Randall Bishop.

Interested candidates have until Friday at 4:30 p.m. to file. The election is on Oct. 7.
