Eleven HOSA students from Kodiak High School along with their advisers, Christy Kinter and Joy Arneson, attended the Career and Technical Student Organizations Performance-Based Assessment Conference in Anchorage held March 20-22. HOSA is a national student organization that was formed to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. The following students from KHS attended and participated in conference workshops, business meetings and competitive events: Courtney Ibabao received second-place medals in the competitive events, extemporaneous health poster and extemporaneous writing. Art Alejandro was also elected as a state HOSA officer.
Kodiak High School graduate Julie Beehler has been named a junior marshal for Missouri Baptist University's commencement ceremony on April 29. Only students who are academically ranked at the top of the junior class and who have earned at least 24 credit hours at MBU are eligible for this honor. Marshals escort the graduating class during commencement exercises. Beehler is majoring in human services.
