• At 4:15 p.m., the Old Harbor VPSO was advised of a situation regarding a 9-year-old child who was terrified to go home. Further investigation revealed a 31-year-old resident of Old Harbor, who was on conditions of release for a prior felony assault, was drinking alcohol while caring for the child. He also failed to obtain a sober adult to care for the child while he was drinking. The Old Harbor VPSO obtained a search warrant to enter the residence and he was arrested without incident and transported to Kodiak on April 3 and remanded on the charges of violating conditions of release and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was held without bail pending arraignment.

• At 5:45 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a 16-year-old male actively harming himself with a knife. Troopers, with assistance from Kodiak Police and Bayside Volunteer Fire EMS, responded to the residence. When the 16-year-old refused to drop the knife he was subdued with a single application of a taser. He was taken into custody and a subsequent medical evaluation found him free of serious injury. The 16-year-old was arrested for third-degree domestic violence, third-degree assault and sixth-degree misconducted involving a controlled substance. He was remanded to the Kodiak Jail juvenile holding cell and held without bail pending an arraignment.
