To the editor:

The family and friends of Richard W. Belisle would like to thank the community of Kodiak for the outpouring of love and support that has followed his murder. We truly appreciate each and every one who has brought food, offered comfort and prayers, along with those who have felt disbelief and outrage at the circumstances on April 12. We miss Rich each and every moment of every day and sometimes that is overwhelming, the pain and grief we feel is indescribable.

The FBI, Coast Guard Investigative Service and the Alaska State Troopers are continuing to investigate and are in contact with Rich’s family on a daily basis. The FBI have assured us that they are fully committed and will continue until the person responsible for Rich’s death is prosecuted and convicted. They are with us for the long haul and we thank each and every one who has given statements and provided assistance to those investigating. Please continue to do so, and do not hesitate to contact law enforcement with any information you may have, no matter how seemingly small or insignificant.

Rich loved Kodiak, the community, the people and the beauty that surrounds us every day. Thank you for being there for us.

Nicola Belisle
