10U hockey champs

The Kodiak Hockey League 10U team won the Peninsula Winter Games tournament Jan. 20 in Kenai. Back, left: Coaches Don Kettenacker, Jeff Sanford and head coach Luke Smith. Front, left: Charli McCarthy, Lilliana Kettenacker and Daniel Larson. The squad punctuated a perfect 5-0 tournament with a 5-2 victory over MAHA in the finals.

Cooper Smith led Kodiak with 17 points (14 goals, three assists), while Magnus Sanford had 16 (10 goals, six assists), Treyton Butler 12 (nine goals, three assists), Lucas Cook three (one goal, two assists), Daniel Larson three (one goal, two assists), Maddox Deemer three (two goals, one assist), Donald Kettenacker three (three goals), Charli McCarthy two (one goal, one assist), Cy Simenoff two (one goal, one assist) and Lillana Kettenacker one (one assist). Lilana Kettenacker saved 26 of 31 shots, while Daniel Larson saved 18 of 23.
