Kodiak wrestling state champion Krystal Fabricante had her best weekend on the mat for Eastern Oregon University at the Oregon Wrestling Classic Jan. 18. 

The sophomore finished third in the 123-pound weight class with a 2-1 record. 

After getting pinned by  Grays Harbor College’s Dallas Gomez in the quarterfinals, Fabricante worked her way to the third-place match where she pinned Gomez in 59 seconds. 

Fabricante, a 2016 state champion for Kodiak High School, is 7-8 for Eastern Oregon this season.  

Eastern Oregon is wrestling Providence and Southern Oregon this Saturday. 



Kodiak’s Levi Fried finished in the middle of the pack in a dense field of mile runners at the Jim Emmerich/Alumni Invitational Saturday at South Dakota State University, 

Fried, a senior at University of Mary, placed 19th out of 36 runners with a time of 4 minutes, 25.06 seconds. Iowa Central Community College’s Awet Yohannes won with a time of 4:09.64. 

Up next for Fried is the University of North Dakota Indoor Open this Saturday.
