“Chainsaw” Charlie Johnson, a former Kodiak High School athlete, earned an impressive victory at AFC 135 on Wednesday in Anchorage.

Johnson pummeled Jared “Five Point” Foust in a welterweight co-main event fight at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.

The ringside announcer told a national audience on UFC Fight Pass that it was the best fight he had seen in a long time.

“It felt good to get that win,” Johnson said in an interview after the fight. “That dude is tough as hell ... I knew  he was a savage and I wanted that win.”

Johnson won in the second round at the 2-minute, 7-second mark.

Johnson is a 2012 graduate of Kodiak High School and is a former wrestling and football standout. He made his mixed martial arts debut in 2015 in Anchorage.

His dream is to compete in UFC.

“I’m trying to make this my job,” he said. “Trying to pay the bills and give my family the best life I can give them.”
