Kodiak High School’s annual blue and gold track and field meet is Friday at Joe Floyd Track and Field.

The meet starts at 2:30 p.m. with field events, followed by running events at 4 p.m.

The running events include the 400- and 3,200-meter relays, the 100, 400, 1,600 and the 200 hurdles.

Kodiak juniors Levi Thomet and Levi Fried both competed at an unofficial scramble meet at the Dome in Anchorage last Saturday.

Thomet won the 1,600 with a time of 4 minutes, 27 seconds, while Fried was third in 4:45.

Thomet is the state’s defending 4A champion in the 1,600 and 3,200, while Fried won last year’s state title in the 800. The Kodiak boys are the defending state champions.

The Bears’ first official meet is April 4 at the AKFCA Big C Relays in Anchorage.
