The Kodiak Hockey League 12U A team dropped three games at the Alaska State Hockey Tournament over the weekend in the Mat-Su Valley. 

Kodiak fell to the Grizzlies 8-4, Delta 7-0 and Homer 7-1. 

Ronan Hinman and Miles Grimes punched in two goals each for Kodiak. John Bowman contributed a goal and an assist, while John Paul Pogson had an assist. 

Goalie Simon Lonheim saved 62 of 76 shots, while Aiden Johnson saved 30 of 38 shots. 

Michaelina Ball, Marek Wyszkowski, Eljer Durand, Simon Lonheim, Melanie Gronn, Rylee Otto, James Erpelding and Aiden Johnson were also on the team that was coached by Luke Smith, Landon Durand and Jeff Sanford.

Juneau defeated Homer 7-1 in the championship game.   

KHL’s 14U B team will be playing at state that begins Friday in Fairbanks. The league’s 8U team will also be competing in an off-island tournament.
