Black Hills State University sophomore Levi Fried picked up a pair of accolades last week.

The Kodiak High graduate was one of four Black Hills track and field athletes to be named to the preseason all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team.

Fried is coming off his second-straight NCAA Division II Indoor Championships as part of the Yellow Jackets’ distance medley relay team. He also earned a podium spot in the 800-meter run of the RMAC Championships.

Black Hills opens its outdoor season March 23.

Fried was also honored as the school’s January Warriors of the Month.

Josh Morin, a freshman at Arizona State University, was named an academic all-American for holding a cumulative 3.5 grade point average or higher for the season.

According to collegebowling.com, Morin is averaging 193.4 in 30 games bowled in Tier 1 events this season and is averaging 181.1 in 46 games bowled in Tier 2 events.
