REGIONAL PREVIEW: Marbrey vies for triple crown

Posted: Friday, May 17, 2019 9:00 am

The triple distance crown is one of the hardest feats to accomplish in a track and field meet. It involves winning track’s three longest individual races — the 800-meter run, the 1,600 and the 3,200. For those counting, that is 14 tours around the oval.

“It requires a depth of training to be able to race that much mileage effectively,” Kodiak coach Ashley Mortenson said.
