The Kodiak Kingfishers took 11 swimmers to compete at the Northwest Age Group Sectional Championships on March 18 in Federal, Wash.

His winning time of 54.93 seconds in the 100 ranks him sixth in the nation for 11-year-olds, while his times in the 100 back and 200 free place him 11th in the country.

Tahna Lindquist placed eighth in the 100 and 200 backstroke and 500 free and ninth in the 200 free.

The team of Dyton Schauff, Max Mutch, Nick Lincoln and Blake James placed 14th in the 13- and 14-year-old boys 200 freestyle relay and 15th in the 200 medley relay.

“The rest of the swimmers were in the mix and had some personal best times,” coach John Lindquist wrote in an e-mail.
