Two Arkansas state championship football coaches will be in Kodiak next week to conduct a week-long camp.

Coaches Mark Kelley and Lance Little, who guided the Searcy Lions to their first 5A state title in 2019, were invited to The Rock by Kodiak High football coach Bryan Ellsworth.

Ellsworth has dubbed the camp the “Kelley and Little Kodiak Elite Football Camp.” The camp is open to seventh-through 12th-graders and begins at 6 p.m. Monday at Joe Floyd Track and Field. Registration is $20 and will be collected at the field.

In five seasons as the head coach of Searcy, Kelley sported a 44-17 record and qualified for the playoffs every year, which included winning the program’s first state title since 1933. In May, he resigned from Searcy to join the Conway Wampus Cats coaching staff, another high school in Arkansas, as an offensive coordinator

Little was the defensive coordinator for Searcy, who followed Kelley to Conway to become a defensive assistant.

The camp is sponsored by Kodiak Lions Club, Marine Surveyors of Kodiak, Compass Suites, State Farm Insurance, Radar Alaska, Piza Pit, MK Enterprises, Marine Electric and Refrigeration of Kodiak and Alaska One Realty.
