Kodiak snapped a four-game losing skid with a 45-21 boys basketball nonconference victory over Eagle River Thursday in Eagle River.

Sophomores Shawn Case and Jackson Krug led the charge with nine points apiece. 

Senior Sam Galindo tossed in eight points, while freshman Frankie Marcelo added six points. 

A Krug 3-pointer gave Kodiak the lead for good at 3-2 in the opening frame. 

The Bears (5-10) led 25-9 at halftime and  35-20 at the end of the third quarter.

Kodiak plays Colony — the top 4A boys teams in the Alaska Association of Coaches Basketball poll — today and Saturday at Colony High School. 

Today’s game tips at 6 p.m., while Saturday’s game begins at 1 p.m. 

The Knights are 10-4 overall, 2-0 in the Northern Lights Conference. The Bears are 1-3 in conference. 

Eagle River grabbed the junior varsity game 51-43, while Kodiak won the C squad game 49-29.
