DEREK CLARKSTON/Kodiak Daily Mirror

Kodiak’s Jho Bigornia (70) reaches for a loose ball during a high school football game against Wasilla earlier this season at Joe Floyd Track and Field.

Midway through the prep football season and Kodiak is still searching for its first points of the year.

Palmer dealt Kodiak a 47-0 nonconference loss Friday at Palmer High School.

The Bears dropped to 0-4 and have been outscored 181-0. This is the first time in program history that Kodiak has been blanked in four straight games.

Kodiak’s best chance to crack the scoreboard came late in the fourth quarter. The Bears drove to the Palmer’s 15-yard line before missing a field goal from the 31.

Lavar Marshall powered Palmer with 197 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carriers.

His four-yard trip to the end zone opened the scoring with 3:54 left in the first quarter.

Palmer scored four times in the second quarter and led 34-0 at halftime.

The Moose gained 404 offensive yards to the Bears’ 85 yards.

Vince Mangrobang led Kodiak with 40 rushing yards on four carries.

On Friday, Kodiak begins Northern Lights Conference play against Eagle River at Joe Floyd Track and Field.
