Talon Lindquist concluded his stay at the 2019 Aon New Zealand Open Championships with another personal-best performance.
The Kodiak star placed seventh in the A final of the 200-meter individual medley with a time 2 minutes, 8.22 seconds. He went 2:06.04 in the preliminary heats, which crushed his previous personal-best time of 2:12.38. The qualifying time for the 2020 US Olympic Team Trials is 2:04.69.
Bradee Ashby, 23, won with a time of 1:59.60.
Lindquist, a rising sophomore at the University of Hawaii, recorded personal-best times in the 400 IM (4:27.42), the 100 backstroke (57.32) and the 200 backstroke (2:07.66) during the meet.
