Kodiak’s volleyball team scored a second-place finish in the bronze bracket of the West Anchorage Spiketacular Saturday at West Anchorage High School. 

The Bears lost to 3A Mt. Edgecumbe 25-14, 19-14 in the bronze bracket championship game. 

Kodiak beat Northern Lights Conference foe Colony 19-25, 25-19, 20-18 to reach the championship match. 

In pool play, Kodiak went 4-4 against Dimond, Bartlett, Barrow and Wasilla. 

Dimond won the gold bracket, Soldotna won the silver bracket, Chugiak won the copper bracket, while Nome won the nickel bracket. 

On Friday and Saturday, Kodiak returns to NLC play at Wasilla.
