Police have identified the body of the man discovered in his room at the Shelikof Lodge on July 16, as that of Russell Oyler.

Oyler, 54, was from Anchorage, police said.

The lodge’s assistant manager discovered Oyler when he went to check the room after several failed attempts to get in touch with Oyler regarding his overstay.

Oyler was pronounced dead on scene and his body was transported to Anchorage for an autopsy.

No foul play is suspected, and police are investigating this as an unattended death investigation.

Police expect to have the autopsy results in the next few weeks.
