Victoria (Vicky) Jean Mackey was born on Sept. 26, 1941, in Ionia, Mich., to The Rev. Carl E. and Lucille A. (Green) Ruble and went to be with her Lord on Jan. 3, 2012.

Vicky grew up in Northwestern Michigan and graduated from high school in Kingsley, Mich. She attended Northwestern Michigan College and worked for R.L. Polk Co., in Traverse City, Mich.

In 1968, Vicky moved to Kodiak. On May 9, 1970, she married Charles (Chuck) Mackey. For many years they lived in Chiniak, moving into Kodiak in the 1980s. Vicky worked at First National Bank Kodiak Christian Book Store and for many years was the church secretary at Kodiak Bible Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Ruble and nephew, Tracy Morgan. Survivors include her husband Chuck Mackey, her mother Lucille Ruble; her sister Ruth Ann (Jim) Morgan of Sand Lake, Mich.; her brothers Ron (Linda) Ruble of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and Bill (Linda) Ruble of Belding, Mich.; her sister-in-law Eloise Lamb; and her cousin and friend Julia McDonald of Kodiak. She also leaves many other cousins, nieces and nephews (great and great-great).

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Kodiak Mortuary on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Memorial services will be held at the Kodiak Bible Chapel on Jan. 12 at 5 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Kodiak Bible Chapel with the designation for missions.

An additional memorial service to celebrate Vicky’s life will be held in Belding, Mich., on Jan. 21 at the Belding Free Methodist Church.
