North Pacific Fishery Management Council begins meet today in Anchorage

KODIAK — The North Pacific Fishery Management Council begins its winter meeting at 8 a.m. today in Anchorage.

The council, the governing body for most federal fisheries issues near Alaska, is expected to hear governmental reports for much of the day before addressing Pacific cod jig fishery management this afternoon.

The council will work through Tuesday, and its deliberations will be webcast at http://www.fakr.noaa.gov/npfmc/.
