I first met Rich Walker when he and I both volunteered diligently on Alan Austerman’s first State House campaign. We met again some years later when I was project manager for Kodiak’s first waterfront restaurant. Rich’s environmental company gave us a favorable asbestos abatement. Another ten years passed and I find myself working for Rich on the base.

In the three different relationships and also a friendship, I have found Rich to be a diligent, intelligent, caring, very professional, able to speak the truth to power, simply put — impressive. I suppose his years spent on the college football gridiron has taught him to expect a lot of himself and see the potential in those he works with. As a team player he has been instrumental in the Kodiak Football League’s funding our Kodiak High School football team raising private money to support a public school! Nobody can compete with this. He also pushed for the new sports fields. Innovation has been his order of the day on many occasions. He has managed hundreds of people in various venues and even at the same time! It’s time to give back and see what he can do for Kodiak and our State. It is my privilege to support Rich Walker.
