Turns out the Kodiak girls basketball team did win their season-opening game against Lathrop.

The Bears beat Lathrop 41-30 on Dec. 16 in what was supposed to be an endowment game that did not count toward the season record. However, Kodiak activities director Bryan Ferris said Thursday that the Dec. 16 game counted toward the standings and the Dec. 17 loss against Lathrop was the endowment game.

That moves Kodiak’s record to 2-1.

The Kodiak boys basketball team defeated Lathrop on both nights. Friday’s game counted toward the season record, while Saturday’s did not.

Today, the Kodiak girls play Ketchikan at 2 p.m. in the third/fifth-place game of the Clarke Cochrane Christmas Classic.
