Elizabeth “Libby” Lois Little was born on Oct. 5, 1954 in Elizabethtown, Ky. to Robert and Ruth Jones Little. At age six, she moved to Seattle with her family. She graduated from Shoreline High School in 1971, and just a few years later, followed her desire for adventure to Alaska.

Libby worked on fishing boats for several years, and in 1979 she was married to John Steven “Henry” Hansen in

Kodiak. This marriage blessed them with three children: Kirsten, Gunnar, and Christian.

In 1999, Libby moved to Dundee, Minn., where she grew to love the country life. She attended Minnesota West Community College and obtained her Associate of Arts degree in 2007.

She also studied Horticulture at South Dakota State University and was an active member of her community. On Sunday Dec. 16, 2012, Libby passed away at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, Minn. at age 58.

She greatly enjoyed gardening, celebrating, and watching her children grow. Despite her many health struggles, she possessed an immense passion for life. Libby had the ability to brighten anyone’s day.

Survivors include her three children: Kirsten Hansen of Hilo, Hawaii, Gunnar Hansen of Kinbrae, Minn., and Christian Hansen of Dundee. She is survived by her sister Alison Little of Portland, Ore. Libby is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dece. 19, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Dundee. A celebration of life followed the service at Mike Hendel’s barn.
