Wednesday, May 14

Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence off of Perez Way. Investigation revealed a 31-year-old female of Kodiak assaulted a 31-year-old male at the residence causing physical injury. She was subsequently arrested for fourth-degree assault and transported to Kodiak Police Department Jail where no bail was set.

Saturday, May 17

• At 1:15 a.m., Coast Guard military police conducted a traffic stop near the Benny Benson Kodiak State Airport. While contacting the driver, a 24-year-old resident of Kodiak, USCG police detected an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from inside the vehicle. Troopers were contacted and responded to the scene. Subsequent investigation revealed that he had been driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Kodiak City Jail where he was remanded on one count of driving under the influence and was held on $500 bail.

• At 11:46 p.m., troopers received a report from the Old Harbor village public safety officer that a 44-year-old male crashed his ATV and sustained injuries. A Coast Guard helicopter was able to medevac him to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center and was later transported to Anchorage for his injuries.

• At 10:12 a.m., troopers received a report of a vehicle in the ditch off a Kodiak roadway. Investigation revealed the vehicle was crashed earlier in the morning with the driver being identified as an 18-year-old Kodiak resident. No injuries were reported and he was issued a citation for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision.

Sunday, May 19

At 7:52 p.m., hours, troopers received a report of a burglary and theft from a homeowner in the Woodland Acres Subdivision. The homeowner reported he was out of town and upon returning to Kodiak, he discovered 15 firearms had been stolen from his residence. The firearms have an approximately value of $12,000 and the investigation continues. Monday, May 20

At 9:10 p.m., troopers received a report that a 68-year-old female was preparing to be picked up by a skiff at the Anton Larsen Boat Dock located in Anton Larsen Bay to return to her home in the Afognak Russian Village. While at the dock, an unknown person stole her purse and four bags of groceries, worth approximately $200.

Tuesday, May 21

At 12:45 p.m., hours, troopers contacted a 19-year-old male resident of Kodiak as part of an ongoing investigation. During the contact, he was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Anchorage Court regarding the original charge of failure to appear for fourth-degree theft. He was arrested and remanded to the Kodiak Police Department jail. Bail was set at $500.
