Public Safety Dispatcher
This is an entry level, Non-exempt position that starts at $19.43/hr. The employee occupying this position may be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime. Specific assignments include, but are not limited to: receiving and directing 9-1-1- calls and public walk-ins; assisting with the search and detainment of prisoners: monitoring burglar and fire alarms; processing records; assisting with the maintenance and storage of property and evidence; and monitoring closed-circuit television monitors to identify and report suspicious activity. Must be 19 years of age at time of application and have a high school diploma or GED; familiarity with clerical and general office functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Must have a valid Alaska drivers license, and be eligible for access to criminal justic information network systems.
