Kodiak soccer heads to regions
Making the Northern Lights Conference Soccer Championships was bittersweet for Kodiak’s first-year varsity boys program. The team was thrilled to have qualified, but it came at the steep cost of $6,500. As a self-funded program, the team had to come up with the money to travel to the tournament that begins Thursday at Colony High School. When coach Eric Waltenbaugh found out his team had qualified, he met with his...

Once the runs arrive in force, you may need to bring your own rock to stand on in the most popular fishing spots. There might or might not be a few reds in rivers right now, so finding them will be difficult and hooking up a challenge. Jakob Arnold’s Saturday outing against Houston started eerily similar to last year’s baseball game against the Hawks. In both contests, Arnold plunked the first hitter, who came around to score. Fortunately for Arnold and Kodiak, the similarities stopped there. Arnold settled down and no-hit Houston in an 8-1 Southcentral Conference victory. The senior right-hander struck out 11 and walked one in seven innings. It...
