Salmon season remains on track
As fishermen across Kodiak Island fan out to take advantage of a sunny weekend, they will find plenty of targets for their hooks.
With one-quarter of the salmon season done, Kodiak has so far dodged the king salmon drought plaguing other areas of the state. Early sockeye returns to the road system have also been promising, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game said.
