Special Olympics torch run Saturday
The Alaska Law Enforcement Pledge Drive and Torch Run is Saturday. The 5K run/walk begins at the downtown Well’s Fargo at 10 a.m. All proceeds from the run go to Kodiak’s Special Olympics program. The run ends at Kodiak High School, where lunch will be provided. Johnson, Olson win bowling tourney
The bowling duo of Tommy Johnson and Josh Olson won the season-ending Top 20 Tournament at Tropic Lanes on May 5. Johnson and Olson outdueled 10 teams to pick up a prize of $637.76. Swimmers shine in sprints
Four Kodiak Kingfishers were the top swimmers in their age groups at the Southcentral Sprint Championships held May 4. Alison Narog (girls 8 and under), Max Cook (Boys 8 and under), Devon Cummiskey (girls 10 and under) and Marina Cummiskey (girls 13 and 14) all were the high-point swimmers in their divisions. University of Alaska Anchorage’s Dylan Anthony posted a pair of top four finishes at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships over the weekend in Monnouth, Ore. Caballa wins state wrestling triple crown

Earth Day Triathlon registration ends Thursday
Time is running out to sign up for Saturday’s Earth Day Triathlon. The last day to register for Kodiak’s only triathlon is Thursday. The triathlon has been a Kodiak tradition since 1985. Dylan Anthony tested his legs in a new event at the Occidental Invitational on Saturday in California. Zombies are making another appearance at Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park. The second Zombie at Abercrombie 5K Fun Run is noon Saturday. The event is not a normal fun run.
