Local youth clubs host visiting teams
Kodiak will be swarming with youth athletes this weekend. The Kodiak Hockey League and Kodiak Kingfishers are both hosting teams from the Kenai Peninsula. This is the first time KHL, a second-year nonprofit, is hosting off-island teams. The Homer Hockey Association is bringing 38 players — ages 8-14 — for the icebreaking event. The Kodiak Middle School wrestling team spent five days on the road last week, traveling to Kenai, Anchorage and Seward.
