Mahle takes loss
Kodiak’s Brandon Mahle pitched well in his third outing for the Post 20 Twins, but absorbed a 3-1 loss to Service in an American Legion baseball game Saturday in Anchorage. Mahle, a Kodiak High School rising senior, started and went 4 1/3 innings, giving up three runs —one earned —on three hits while walking seven and striking out one. The Twins, a Kenai-based team, are 4-2 in league and 8-4 overall.
