Hundreds attend Harbor Lights Festival
Julian McCarthy stood in pouring rain that soaked his red suit, but his cotton white beard couldn’t hide his smile. “Want a candy cane? Take more than one,” he told passing cars again and again Saturday night at Oscar’s Dock. McCarthy, the Santa-dressed crewman of the F/V Stella, had more than Christmas cheer to celebrate. By the end of Saturday’s Harbor Lights Festival, the Stella was named the best-decorated boa...

Garden Gate: Searching for the right onion
Now that it’s officially winter, I tend to therapeutically indulge in seed catalogs.
