Battling against sexual assault in Kodiak requires entire community

In this last year there has been so much in the news about sexual assault. The #MeToo movement has shown us that this is not just somebody else’s issue. It is an issue that touches most all of us. 

First of all, it is important to remember that sexual assault is most often perpetrated by someone that the victim knows. Whether it be a family member, an acquaintance or someone the victim knows from work or school. This leaves the victim with a terrible dilemma: do they ask for help and report? Or, do they remain silent and carry their secret for years without telling anyone?
