To the Editor:

I’m a 56-year-old woman from Wisconsin. I found myself stuck on Barometer Mountain and unable to get down. Luckily, SN Josef Henthorn from the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett came to my rescue. He helped me get off the scary ledge I was on and then escorted me all the way back down the slippery trail.

Thank you, Josef, for your kindness. You’re a life saver!

Signed — A person who will never hike alone again.
