In my opinion there is nothing equitable about the ridiculous 2016 salmon disaster bailout program and I laughed out loud after reading the article in Thursday’s paper. I’m not the least bit surprised that salmon fishermen are stomping their feet and crying for more money they do not deserve. None of the fisheries should be bailed out after a bad season.  I’m pretty sure there is not a guarantee of “catching” on the back of any permit card.

Every commercial boat is a business.  If owners can’t weather a tough season, then get out of business, get a job, and stop crying to the government and taxpayers to bail you out.
