I would like to thank Island Trails Network staff, board and volunteers and the independent trail volunteers for all the good work on our trails this summer. From the wonderful improvements and additions on Near Island to the seven summits and beyond, signs and trail improvements are greatly appreciated.

Now, if people would practice leave no trace principles, especially in the potty department, hiking conditions might be darn near perfect. Come on people! If you can hike Barometer, you can pack out or at least bury that toilet paper! REI has good tutorial videos on leave no trace principles. Please do the right thing and clean up after yourselves on our trails!
