No Fairbanks area teacher will receive a layoff warning this year, according to the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District.

That won't be necessary this year, said Superintendent Karen Gaborik, because of the Alaska Legislature's decision in 2018 to plan ahead and forward-fund money for the 2019-2020 school year.
