Spate of rescues leads CG to urge hunters to be safer

KODIAK — With hunting season in full swing, Alaska state and federal agencies are advising hunters and outdoorsmen to take extra precautions, especially after a small spate of recent rescue operations.

“Coast Guard 17th District personnel have responded to four separate search and rescue cases over the last two weeks relating to hunters needing assistance in the Alaskan outdoors,” a news release stated.
