Water, sewer repairs close to completion

Posted: Thursday, May 16, 2019 9:00 am

KODIAK — Following the failure of an underground sewer main on Metrokin Way on Thursday, the City of Kodiak announced that repairs are in the final stages of completion and the system “should be fully operational and in compliance with the (Alaska) Department of Environmental Conservation permit” by Wednesday evening.

A news release from the City states that the failed sewer main services 80% of the city sewer system and that the failure of the discharge pipe was caused by a “collapsed section at Metrokin Way.”
