KODIAK — Wastewater began overflowing on Metrokin Way on Thursday after a wastewater pipe began leaking. The City of Kodiak became aware of the overflow after wastewater leaks were reported to the Public Works Department by a resident at roughly 5 p.m.

City personnel responded immediately and shut down Lift Station #5, which is located by Mission Lake, just off Metrokin Way. Repair work began Thursday night and remains ongoing, while the city awaits fittings that are being flown up from the Lower 48, according to Deputy City Manager Josie Bahnke.
