Man sues Koniag over firearm cleaning system

Posted: Friday, November 23, 2018 9:00 am

KODIAK — Regional Native corporation Koniag, Inc. is defending itself against a civil lawsuit, the plaintiff of which claims the firm breached a contract and owes him money for royalties on the sale of a patented “self-cleaning gas operating system for a firearm.” Koniag is denying all wrongdoing, claiming that it and its subsidiaries were never involved in the plaintiff’s employment agreement.

Paul Andrew Leitner-Wise filed a complaint in September 2017, accusing Koniag of breaching a contract of employment, of unlawfully obtaining intellectual property, and financially benefiting from it. Furthermore, he is accusing Koniag of “fraudulent inducement,” after it allegedly purchased a majority share in his company and proceeded to “dismember the company and sell its assets.”
