KODIAK — Two teenagers died in Unalaska on Thursday, after a pickup truck in which they were traveling plunged off a cliff. The crash killed Karly MacDonald, 16, and Kiara Renteria, 17, while the driver, 18-year-old Dustin Ruckman, survived. All three were students at Unalaska High School.

The pickup was on a mountain road early Thursday afternoon and it fell 900 feet to the ocean shoreline, the City of Unalaska said in an announcement Friday. Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash; the investigation is ongoing.
